Take a look around you right now if you can safely do so. How many automated processes do you see right now?
Automation has become part of our lives in many ways and we don’t even realize it. You can get cash from an automated teller machine. You can order your dinner from an automated menu. You can even create automated processes which will compose content like this on any subject and have it read like it was created by a human.
In many ways, automation makes our lives easier. As robotics and AI take over duties that were once paid positions, however, we also find that it can make lives more difficult as well.
We are now at a crossroads.
If we allow robots, AI, and automation to take over every possible job, then it may force the world to reverse back in time. Human societies would be forced to find employment in skills that cannot be replicated by technology.
Do we have the skill sets available to us should this happen? How would we trade resources in a world driven by automation?
What would happen to the people who do not have the skills to keep up with such a societal transition?
Wealth Gaps Are Already Present in Modern Societies
In a future where those with needed skills will have a distinct advantage over those who do not, the rich will get much richer, while the poor will struggle to survive.
Fewer available jobs will have a disruptive impact on the economy first, then society in general. People will find themselves removed from the ability to earn an income. Many may become homeless if they cannot find an alternative method of earning an income.
We will see an increase in financially-related crime as people struggle to meet their basic needs. Those in the poor classes will fight with one another over a dwindling resource supply as a wealthy few dominate the global economy.
Developing countries will have their forward progress stopped. First-world nations will be taken over, by technologies, for personal gain.
Over time, the technology may even decide that certain classes of people within a society are expendable.
It is the very definition of an apocalypse. The only difference is that instead of killing all of humanity, only the “discarded majority” will be at risk.
Information has become our one true global currency.
How We Can Compete in a World Dominated by Information
Thankfully, the future is not here yet, even if the invisible war between the physical and digital worlds is already here.
We have time to carve out our own niche in this future world.
What sets the wealthy apart from the poor in any society? Their access to resources and ability to solve problems for others. Those with more resources and creativity have the best chance of finding success.
That’s why making the future available to everyone right now is the most important step we can take.
Think about what you do right now. How could you be more effective at your job? What processes could you automate that would help you become more productive?
Through a drag-and-drop design and open-source community development, we have a solution for you to consider: AATOS.
With AATOS, you get to be in control. Your talents and creativity become your best asset because you are able to put more information out to the world. You gain value because you have access to resources.
You become valuable because you can solve problems for others.
Awareness Is the First Step Toward Prevention
We are not prepared as societies to return to a world that is based on our personal skill sets.
What we can do is redirect the emphasis of technology toward our own personal gain. We can act upon our thoughts to create a future where our ideas can get the exposure required for it to be successful.
Every idea needs brand ambassadors and implementers.
Now you are aware of what the future could be. Let’s take the next step and do something about it.
